... and nothing! We all know that there isn't any hope anymore for SkyOS. We all know that Robert isn't developing SkyOS anymore. We all know that the admins doesn't visit this forum anymore. We all know that SkyOS will never come back, and we all know that ranting won't solve that.

So, why you, administrators, don't close this forum? Or why don't you make a blog post about the death of SkyOS, and remove all the beta subscription related links(yep, they are still there!!)? At least, with this, newcomers won't have a hope that this is still being developed, and would make all of us conscious about the REAL SkyOS development state.... You'll probably tell about the importance of alternate oses and et cetera, but, there is absoulutely nothing related, or nothing important about SkyOS in the open forum. So, if you don't want to close it, I would like to suggest to:
1st: Remove the forum link in SkyOS home page...
2nd: ... and make the forum only accessible to the Beta testers, or, make the beta section readable by normal people, just prevent them from posting

Well, that's probably my last message to the SkyOS users and team...
I hope you hear me at least this time.
Good bye, for now..

There is still hope for SkyOS. Now it depends on Robert.

To anyone listening. I know another year has passed, but I sincerely hope that SkyOS gets released to open source. I really think that it has a chance at magnificent growth and that this could be a great OS for possibly for niche in the computer market. I might sound like a dreamer, but just think of the possibilities. You just never know and it would be a shame to let all this outstanding effort and success go into the void. Please, please let others have a chance at this. You never know what can become of it.

Source code release (under a standard/compatible license) could "save" the past work.

It could also be interesting to "join forces" with Syllable or - even better - Haiku...

I wholeheartedly agree with this! I ported a few apps and was involved in beta testing back in the day, and I have fond memories of the community :) I just can't believe that was 12 years ago now, ha!

Robert, please open source the software. I think a community will rally behind it, especially with the lack of alternatives these days. I would be very interested in reviving, contributing and/or organizing this project. I also have some unique ideas that could limit the scope of the work involved and breath new life into the user experience.

Feel free to email or PM me, or we could start some discussions here if anyone is interested in talking about future possibilities, OS design and how we could modernize the code base.

Cheers!
